Exempt Position Summary The ERP Functional Team Lead - HR/Payroll leads a team of functional specialists supporting JD Edwards and related ERP technologies across Human Resources and Payroll domains. This role combines hands-on functional expertise with leadership responsibility to ensure stable operations, effective delivery, and continuous improvement of business processes. Leadership & Management Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of functional specialists supporting HR and Payroll systems.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations aligned to organizational goals.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to team members.
  • Oversee prioritization and assignment of support, enhancements, and project work.
  • Balance production support and project delivery to maintain service levels and commitments.
  • Act as escalation point for complex issues and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure sustainable issue resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to governance, change control, and compliance requirements.
  • Support audit activities and enforce segregation of duties and control standards.
  • Build relationships with business stakeholders and manage vendor performance.
  • Provide oversight of functional deliverables and maintain accountability for outcomes. Functional Operations & Support
  • Oversee day-to-day support for HR and Payroll systems including JD Edwards.
  • Ensure timely triage and resolution of issues, defects, and enhancements.
  • Serve as functional authority on system capabilities and business alignment. Projects & Enhancements
  • Lead ERP initiatives across requirements, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and guide solutions.
  • Ensure proper testing, deployment, and production readiness. Business Partnership
  • Act as a liaison between HR/Payroll teams and IT.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements and process optimization. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data integrity, and system utilization.
  • Support ERP modernization and integration initiatives. Documentation & Training
  • Maintain documentation of processes and system changes.
  • Support training for end users on system updates. Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years ERP experience with HR/Payroll focus.
  • Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
  • Experience leading teams or acting as a senior functional lead. Required Qualifications
  • Strong functional knowledge of HR and Payroll processes.
  • ERP configuration, support, and implementation experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP integrations.
  • Knowledge of audit and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with reporting or automation tools.
