PRIMARY PURPOSE
Assist the Director Finance in the administration the district's business affairs. Coordinates
the administration and reporting functions the district's payroll process and assists in the overall
supervision the district's payroll system and department.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONCERTIFICATION
AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or GED equivalent required
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but exceptional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu
degree
Five () years or more experience in Texas Public Education preferred
Five () years payroll accounting experience including working knowledge customary
controls and accounting procedures associated with payroll functions

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
. Administer TRS programs, including eligibility, retiree processing, and compliance reporting.
. Prepare and submit TRS and other statefederal payroll reports accurately and on schedule.
. Coordinate with TRS, IRS, TWC, TEA, and other agencies to ensure compliance and resolve
issues.
. Support annual financial, TRS, and IRS audits by maintaining payroll accuracy and
documentation.
. Assist retirees with TRS paperwork and related inquiries.
. Manage W•preparation, reporting, and submission to IRS and SSA.
. Verify accuracy deductions for taxes, retirement, garnishments, and benefits.
. Process and reconcile quarterly IRS () and unemployment reports.
. Ensure payroll records and reports comply with GAAP and districtstate regulations.
. Oversee payroll reporting for TEA validation and employee compensation data.
. Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain accurate employee pay records.
. Supervise payroll staff and ensure adherence to established procedures.
. Provide payroll customer service to employees, agencies, and financial institutions.
. Collaborate with HR and Technology on system rollovers and data accuracy.
