We serve as the employer of record for our client companies, giving their employees access to enterprise-level HR services and support. We are a small, fast-moving team where every person has real ownership over their work. Responsibilities The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all client companies on our platform. This role works directly with our Director of Operations and is the day-to-day engine of our payroll function — processing payroll runs, maintaining employee records, and ensuring every client's employees are paid correctly and on time, every time. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role. The right candidate is someone who takes pride in accuracy, communicates clearly when issues arise, and doesn't let things fall through the cracks. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PRO payroll software (or similar PEO payroll platforms) Connecteam or similar time and attendance platform experience Knowledge of workers' compensation payroll reporting and class code assignments Familiarity with
PEO / ASO
service models and co-employment structures Multi-state payroll experience, particularly in AZ, CA, IL, NM, TX, or NY Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience — multi-client or PEO environment strongly preferred Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax requirements, withholding rules, and wage and hour laws High attention to detail — ability to catch errors before they become problems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with payroll data exports and spreadsheets Strong written and verbal communication skills — comfortable corresponding with clients and employees directly Ability to manage multiple payroll schedules and deadlines simultaneously without errors Reliable, organized, and self-managed — able to meet recurring deadlines with minimal supervision Process multi-client payroll runs accurately and on time across weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly pay schedules Enter, review, and audit employee hours, wages, deductions, garnishments, and adjustments in PRO payroll software Manage new hire setup, terminations, pay rate changes, and direct deposit information in the payroll system Process off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, and void/reissue requests as needed Verify payroll data against time and attendance records from Connecteam prior to each payroll run Join us as a Payroll Specialist to play a vital role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting the financial health of our organization!
