Payroll Processor We currently seek a high caliber Payroll Processor for a long-term basis within our client's team of experienced professionals. Based in Aliso Viejo, CA. The Payroll Processor (Expatriate Payroll) is responsible for coordinating and processing payroll activities for expatriate employees across multiple countries. This role ensures accurate calculations of international compensation packages, tax equalization, mobility allowances, and compliance with global payroll regulations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with cross border compensation and vendor partners. Job Requirements Payroll Processing
- Process expatriate payroll cycles accurately and timely for assigned countries.
- Calculate complex expatriate compensation components, including: o Cost of living allowances (COLA) o Housing allowances o Hardship premiums o Tax equalization and hypothetical tax
- Coordinate with in country payroll vendors to validate payroll inputs and outputs. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local payroll legislation, company policies, and global mobility tax requirements.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for compensation, benefits, and international assignment details. Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Global Mobility, Tax, and Finance teams to support expatriate assignments.
- Partner with external tax advisors to ensure proper reporting and taxation.
- Communicate with expatriate employees regarding compensation questions, payroll inquiries, and assignment-related pay items.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of payroll processing experience, with at least 1-2 years in expatriate or global payroll.
- Strong understanding of: o International compensation structures o Tax equalization concepts
- Proficiency in payroll systems (Workday, SAP, ADP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with complex data sets.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with global mobility programs or international assignments
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification Key Competencies
