•As a Permanent Certified Payroll Specialist in the Construction industry, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's operations. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and maintaining accurate payroll records. You will also be the main point of contact for any payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers. This role requires a high level of detail orientation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. With your positive attitude, you will contribute to the overall success of our company.
Responsibilities:
Creating and submitting weekly payroll reports for government contracts Verifying that projects comply with labor laws and prevailing wage rates Gathering and confirming wage information Auditing subcontractor payroll and monitoring money transfers Processing any needed adjustments in compliance with state and federal labor regulations Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation, including sensitive employee and payroll information Tracking licenses, specifically CSLB and City/County Business Licenses Managing subcontracts and coordination Reviewing contracts with appropriate General Managers and communicating contract requirements Issuing Letters of Intent (LOI) and subcontracts Requesting documentation from subcontractors and coordinating the documentation, approval, and coding of invoices Processing Bonds and Performance Bonds Enrolling in Owner/Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP and CCIP) Filing prelims for each contract and providing preliminary information to subcontractors and suppliers Getting documents notarized
Qualifications:
Must have at least 3+ years of experience in a similar role Experience in the construction industry is preferred Must have a strong understanding of state and federal labor laws Knowledge of prevailing wage rates is essential Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a team Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently Must have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic Experience with processing bonds and enrolling in insurance programs is preferred Must have experience with tracking licenses and managing subcontracts Experience with auditing and adjusting payroll is required Must be comfortable handling sensitive employee and payroll information Notary certification is a plus.
