Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and managing the organization's payroll, as well as assisting the finance department with various tasks. This position requires a thorough understanding of payroll procedures and regulations with a background in HR, excellent analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.
Basic Functions:
The duties listed below are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification, but not limited to: Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for all employees in a timely manner Review and verify all payroll information entered in the system for accuracy Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, and company policies Collaborate with Human Resources department to manage employee data related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or concerns promptly Perform regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations Assist in the implementation of new payroll systems or upgrades Assist with year-end payroll activities and reporting Stay up to date on payroll regulations and industry trends Complete other payroll related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements Knowledge of HR compliance and regulations Proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with payroll software systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Intermediate accounting skills and knowledge

Hourly Non-Exempt Position Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

40 hours of paid sick leave

High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing
License/Certification:
N/A Pay:
$30.00 - $32.00 per hour
