Job Description
Senior Payroll Specialist Vector Talent Solutions is a veteran-owned workforce solutions firm dedicated to helping organizations identify, attract, and hire top talent. We are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for a client organization. The Senior Payroll Specialist will manage accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations for domestic and international employees. This role is responsible for payroll processing, tax compliance, reporting, audits, employee support, and maintaining payroll and timekeeping systems. Responsibilities Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for domestic employees and monthly payroll for international employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Audit and approve employee earnings, deductions, tax calculations, benefit withholdings, garnishments, direct deposits, and payroll adjustments. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, leave-of-absence requirements, payroll tax reporting, and year-end reporting. Maintain payroll, timekeeping, deduction, rate table, and supervisor organizational structure data within ADP and related systems. Coordinate payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, benefit elections, and tax withholding updates. Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 review and distribution, quarterly and annual tax filings, and payroll-related audits for 401(k), tax withholdings, and direct deposits. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide guidance to HR and Accounting teams; prepare recurring, ad hoc, and custom payroll reports as needed. Qualifications Working knowledge of ADP payroll systems is required; experience with ADP Workforce Now and biometric timekeeping systems is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of payroll laws, tax requirements, wage and hour regulations, deductions, garnishments, and payroll reporting. Experience processing multi-state payroll and registering or closing state and local withholding and unemployment tax accounts. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies. Proficiency in payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and maintaining accurate employee and payroll records. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with employees, HR, Accounting, and external vendors. This position is expected to follow all company policies, safety procedures, 5S workplace standards, and applicable quality, environmental, and health and safety requirements.
