Payroll Robert Half - 3.9 Davenport, IA Job Details $60,000 - $80,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Disability insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Payroll processing Full Job Description We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for our team. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable managing deadlines, and confident handling payroll details with precision. You will work closely with internal partners to support compliance, maintain reliable records, and ensure employees receive responsive payroll support.
Responsibilities:
Administer end-to-end payroll processing on designated pay schedules while ensuring all payments are completed correctly and on time. Handle multi-state payroll activities, including tax withholdings, quarterly filings, and year-end documentation in accordance with applicable regulations. Maintain employee payroll information such as earnings, deductions, direct deposit details, and related updates with a high level of accuracy. Review payroll registers, investigate variances, and correct discrepancies before final submission. Collaborate with human resources and finance teams to support reporting accuracy, employee data alignment, and payroll compliance. Address employee questions related to pay, deductions, and payroll records in a timely and thorough manner. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing payroll records and documentation that demonstrate compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines. At least 3 years of payroll administration experience with responsibility for full-cycle processing. Hands-on experience managing payroll for employee populations ranging from 101 to 500 employees. Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, including tax compliance and required filings. Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and related payroll systems. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, deductions, reconciliations, and year-end reporting requirements. High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information accurately and confidentially. Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with HR, accounting, and employees.
