Job Description

The Payroll Specialist oversees the administration of the company's bi-weekly payroll for both non-exempt and exempt employees. This will typically include collecting and auditing payroll data using an eye for detail to maintain data integrity and accuracy. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing change forms and assisting with union dues deductions. The Payroll Specialist will also partner with other key members of the HR department to ensure compliance with union CBAs, minimum wage, I-9 requirements, etc. and leadership to resolve any payroll-related inquiries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
include the following: Oversees and administers processing of company's payroll and collects payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records. Assists with various reporting requests including those for union contacts. Oversees the union dues deductions process. Oversees the setup of union dues for newly acquired accounts. Assists with annual and intermittent union increase process in partnership with leadership team. Processes various union contributions such as HWP. Processes employee reimbursements and bonuses. Oversees the minimum wage process by reviewing employee data then presenting recommendations and back bill information to leadership. Processes increase(s). Owns the communication of payroll information, deadlines, etc. to leadership team members. Processes all employee change forms. Screens time-worked inputs for calculating, coding, or other error types to ensure employees are paid timely and accurately. Maintains data integrity by completing regular audits within the HRIS platform and making the necessary corrections. Leads I-9 compliance in partnership with leadership to ensure system integrity for all onboarding records. Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and quickly resolves discrepancies in partnership with leadership. Leads the team in driving new payroll initiatives to reduce company expenditures. Identifies common errors and trends and communicates to leadership to ensure training and loop back is given to appropriate individuals. Brings new ideas to ensure continuous improvement of payroll processes. Participates in problem solving and special projects. Maintains knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration process. Communicates between various departments to ensure completion of tasks. Interacts appropriately with all personnel, guests, and vendors. Complies with all industry, federal, and state guidelines pertaining to human resource practices. Represents Yona Solutions in a positive manner; can follow oral instructions, is pleasant, tactful, courteous, and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents, and client staff. EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience required. At least two years of related experience required. Strong computer and communication skills required.
