Description We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for an organization. This role is ideal for someone who can manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states while maintaining compliance with applicable wage, tax, and reporting requirements. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Administer complete payroll cycles from data review through final processing
- Process payroll for employees, ensuring proper withholding, tax treatment, and regulatory compliance.
- Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to confirm payroll data is accurate before each pay run.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and payment issues in a timely and detail-focused manner.
- Maintain payroll records, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and audit standards.
- Coordinate with HR, finance, and benefits contacts to reflect employee changes such as new hires, terminations, compensation updates, and deductions.
- Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end activities, including preparation of required payroll-related documents.
- Assist with payroll process improvements or system-related updates when needed, while preserving accuracy and continuity of service. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll administration.
- Hands-on knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and related compliance considerations.
- Background processing payroll for organizations with employee populations ranging from 101 to 500 staff members.
- Strong understanding of payroll calculations, deductions, taxes, and recordkeeping requirements.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to confidential information.
- Ability to analyze payroll issues, identify discrepancies, and implement corrections efficiently.
- Proficiency using payroll systems and standard business software for reporting and documentation.
