Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist and Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and support our accounting functions with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will help maintain seamless payroll operations, uphold compliance standards, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in payroll management, bookkeeping, and accounting software within a collaborative and growth-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process weekly/biweekly payroll for employees and contractors Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Manage payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s) Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies Bookkeeping Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger Reconcile bank and credit card accounts Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting Track expenses and maintain organized financial documentation Assist with audits and tax preparation by providing required records Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles including debits & credits, journal entries, and double entry bookkeeping Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms for bookkeeping tasks Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) Strong organizational skills for account reconciliation, general ledger management, and month-end closing processes Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Join us in a role where your expertise directly impacts our organization's efficiency!
