Payroll Specialist at Ledgent Finance & Accounting Payroll Specialist at Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Baltimore, Maryland Posted in 4 days ago. $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees. Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy. Maintain payroll records and employee data in payroll systems. Process payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and commissions. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed. Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end reporting activities. Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams regarding employee changes and payroll updates. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing. Qualifications 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred. Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices. Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Excellent communication and organizational skills. CPP certification is a plus but not required.
