Schedule:
Full-Time About the Position Basil Family Dealerships is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing payroll processes for our employees across the organization, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and providing excellent service to employees. Light travel throughout Western New York may be required to support payroll-related needs across our dealership locations.
What You'll Do:
Payroll Processing Prepare and process weekly and monthly payroll for full-time, part-time, and temporary employees. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time. Review and process deductions, bonuses, overtime, adjustments, and other payroll changes. Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. Employee Data Management Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, tax information, and other employee data. Update employee information in the payroll system, including addresses, banking information, tax withholdings, and other changes. Assist with onboarding new employees and processing employee transfers between locations. Compliance & Reporting Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local tax and labor regulations. Maintain accurate payroll documentation and records. Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll reports and supporting documentation. Prepare and review payroll-related reports as needed. Employee Support & Customer Service Serve as a primary point of contact for employees with payroll-related questions. Provide prompt, professional, and confidential assistance with payroll inquiries. Investigate and resolve payroll issues while maintaining a high level of customer service. Documentation & Procedures Maintain accurate payroll procedures, processes, and documentation. Help ensure consistency and accuracy in payroll practices across dealership locations. Support payroll-related projects and administrative needs as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
2-3 years of payroll administration experience required. Experience working with payroll software and HRIS systems. Strong knowledge of payroll processes and applicable tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/payroll software. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills and a professional, team-oriented approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information. Ability to travel lightly throughout Western New York as needed. Why Join Basil Family Dealerships?
