Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to manage and process payroll accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with payroll systems, and a thorough understanding of payroll procedures, tax requirements, and employee recordkeeping. Key Responsibilities and Duties Processing of weekly payroll for two companies, covering 2k+ union employees Ensure that employees are paid accurately in accordance with company policy and union contracts, while maintaining compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws and regulations. Import and reconciliation of payroll batches. Calculating overtime, premiums, travel pay, retroactive pay adjustments and manual checks. Review of payroll register and payroll exception reports, making necessary corrections. Garnishment processing and follow-up with employees and agencies when needed. Maintenance and review of employee PTO balances. Filing and recordkeeping. Process direct deposit updates, and other payroll-related changes. Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, and paychecks. Coordinate with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee and financial information. Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits and year-end processing, including W-2s. Qualifications 2+ years of payroll experience preferred. Experience with payroll software (ADP Workforce Now & Workforce Manager a plus). Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, wage and hour requirements, and employee deductions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Experience with union payrolls. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
