Under the direction of the Director, Payroll and Benefits, the Benefits and Payroll Coordinator provides professional day-to-day management, coordination, and processing of Human Resources data, employee timekeeping, and benefits and is responsible for the processing of payroll.
This role develops appropriate relationships, prepares written communications, and assists with coordination and management of People Operations compliance work and other projects as directed. The Benefits and Payroll Coordinator serves as a consistent point of contact for employees to ensure exceptional service and support.
This position also serves as backup to the Leave of Absence Coordinator for leave administration.

Duties/Responsibilities:
HRIS Data ManagementManages and maintains position, compensation, time, benefits, time off, and payroll data in personnel recordsEnsures employee completion of self-service data such as emergency contacts, direct deposit, and tax withholdingsProcesses employee terminations, including related correspondenceMaintains organizational-level data for operational and compliance needsAssists with HRIS security managementAssists in creating and managing reportsActs as primary contact for HRIS vendorBenefits AdministrationProvides direct service to employees as the day-to-day contact for all employee benefitsManages and processes benefit enrollments and changesManages COBRA programAssists with Cafeteria Plan administrationAssists with Open EnrollmentActs as liaison with benefit carriers and resolves issuesTime Reporting SystemProvides direct service to employees as the day-to-day contact for time reportingAssists with maintenance of the time reporting systemManages time off bank assignments and changesAssists with corrections to timesheetsReviews system regularly to identify and resolve issues prior to payroll deadlinesMonitors approvals for timely completionPayrollProvides direct service to employees for payroll questionsProcesses payroll each pay period ensuring accuracy of hours, changes, and deductionsDownloads and reviews pre- and post-payroll reportsResponsible for accurate W-2 reportingOrientation & TrainingResponsible for new employee and supervisor orientation related to payroll and benefitsProvides benefit education and highlightsComplianceAssists with year-end payroll complianceAssists with Cafeteria Plan compliance testingMaintains required labor postings (hard copy and electronic)Completes assigned People Operations compliance work plan itemsMiscellaneousDemonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionModels organizational values and behaviorsMaintains confidentiality of protected informationParticipates in compliance audits, process improvement, and quality initiativesPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum five (5) years of experience in benefits and payrollExperience with electronic payroll, timekeeping, and benefits systems requiredPhysical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally may need to stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 20 pounds.
