Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor and tax laws, and maintaining accurate employee compensation records. Your expertise in payroll systems and accounting software will be essential to delivering timely and precise payroll services that support our organizational goals. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported payroll platforms Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax requirements by staying current on updates in payroll tax law and governmental accounting standards Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for payroll transactions Maintain confidential employee information with the utmost discretion while managing data entry tasks within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and payroll software Collaborate with HR and finance teams to verify employee hours, leave balances, and benefit deductions through time & attendance systems and other HR systems Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and labor law compliance for internal audits or external regulatory review Assist with year-end payroll processing including tax reporting, W-2s, and 1099s while ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation Qualifications Familiarity with multiple payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian; technical support knowledge is a plus Knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll tax law, government regulations, and financial concepts related to payroll processing Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks or similar), and general ledger accounting practices Strong analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping accurately Excellent data entry skills including 10-key typing speed; attention to detail is critical for handling confidential information securely Ability to interpret complex financial data and ensure compliance with legal standards across various jurisdictions Join us as a Payroll Specialist to bring your expertise in financial software and payroll management into a role that makes a real difference. Pay:
$27.50 - $31.00 per hour Expected hours: 42.0 per week
