Join a growing organization in the Shaker Heights area as a Payroll Tax Analyst , where you'll play an important role in keeping payroll operations accurate, compliant, and running efficiently. In this position, you'll take ownership of payroll tax-related activities, monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, and help ensure employees and financial records are paid and reported correctly.
What You'll Do:
Process payroll accurately and on time while ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and verify that entries and adjustments are properly recorded. Review payroll data to uncover discrepancies, identify trends, and recommend improvements to payroll processes. Partner with HR to maintain accurate employee records, compensation information, and benefits-related data. Prepare payroll forecasts, financial reports, and key metrics to support budgeting and management decision-making. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of multistate payroll regulations, including requirements for establishing payroll in new jurisdictions. Ensure payroll expenses are properly allocated and support compliance with applicable compensation, benefits, and securities regulations.
What You'll Bring:
At least one year of hands-on experience supporting payroll tax functions, including filings, reporting, and compliance requirements. Solid accounting foundation with strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Experience reviewing and balancing payroll records, along with preparing year-end tax documents such as W-2s. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external contacts. Familiarity with MasterTax or comparable payroll tax and processing platforms. Proven ability to produce accurate reconciliations, financial records, and payroll-related reports. Working knowledge of multistate payroll requirements, including establishing and maintaining payroll accounts in new jurisdictions. Why Join Us?
