About the Role Nagle Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of our transportation business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing driver and mechanic payroll, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a trucking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Process weekly driver payroll, including mileage-based pay, per diem, bonuses, and deductions Process mechanic payroll, including hourly wages, overtime, and shift differentials Maintain accurate pay records for both driver and shop staff and ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations Reconcile payroll registers and coordinate with operations on driver settlements. Prep Accounts Payable & Receivable Code and enter vendor invoices; process timely payments Post customer payments and follow up on outstanding receivables Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies General Ledger & Reporting Bank Reconciliations Credit Card Reconciliations Assist with month-end close Compliance & Record-Keeping Support year-end tax preparation and external audits Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in trucking, transportation, or logistics Experience processing payroll for both hourly and mileage- or settlement-based employees Proficiency in Sage/QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with drivers, mechanics, and operations staff
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 29.0 per week
