Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. In this vital role, you will manage payroll operations, maintain compliance with employment and labor laws, and handle sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality. Your expertise in payroll systems, accounting principles, and HRIS platforms will drive efficiency and accuracy across all payroll functions. Duties Process payroll accurately using Acumatica payroll system and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms, including employment status, salary adjustments, tax information, and benefits data. Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring consistency with financial records and resolving discrepancies promptly. Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions, including debits & credits, tax payments, and accruals. Ensure adherence to employment & labor law regulations by staying current on changes in payroll tax law and governmental reporting requirements. Manage payroll tax filings and payments accurately while maintaining detailed documentation for audit purposes. Collaborate with human resources and finance teams to support payroll management processes such as time & attendance tracking, accounts payable/receivable reconciliation, and employee data entry. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing sensitive payroll data securely across multiple platforms like HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and accounting software. Experience Proven experience working with payroll systems. Demonstrated knowledge of employment & labor law compliance related to payroll processing and tax law regulations. Familiarity with financial concepts such as accounts payable/receivable, governmental accounting standards, and analysis skills for resolving discrepancies. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (Excel or similar), accounting software and HR systems is required. Ability to handle high-volume data entry accurately (10 key typing) while managing confidential information responsibly. Previous roles involving payroll management.
