Training will be provided. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, follows instructions carefully, learns quickly, and understands the importance of accuracy and confidentiality when handling employee, client, payroll, and financial information. The Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistant will work closely with our team and will be trained on our payroll procedures, bookkeeping processes, software, reporting, and internal office systems. Responsibilities Assist with processing client payroll. Enter employee hours and payroll information into payroll systems. Review timesheets and payroll information for accuracy. Verify hours, pay rates, deductions, and employee information. Assist with preparing payroll checks, pay stubs, and direct deposits. Organize and maintain payroll documents and records. Follow up on missing payroll information. Assist with payroll reports and other payroll-related tasks. Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks. Enter and organize financial information as assigned. Follow internal procedures and checklists to help prevent errors. Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, client, payroll, and financial information. Perform other payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is: Highly organized and dependable. Detail-oriented and careful with numbers. Comfortable using computers and learning new software. Able to follow step-by-step procedures and checklists. Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Professional and respectful when communicating with clients and coworkers. Willing to learn and receive feedback. Able to maintain confidential information. Comfortable working as part of a team. Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word . Basic knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) is preferred. Able to create, organize, save, and locate files and documents on a computer. Comfortable working with email attachments, spreadsheets, and basic office documents. Spanish communication skills are required. English communication skills are a plus. Schedule Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM 25 hours per week Applicants should be able to consistently work this schedule. Compensation $18.00 per hour What We Offer Paid hands-on training.
