Payroll Manager/Controller Location:
    Mt Morris, PA Status:
    • Full Time/Non Exempt (At-Will)
    Purpose:
    • The payroll clerk will accurately complete weekly payroll tasks in accordance with established practices and guidelines.
    Responsibilities:
    • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
    • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
    • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
    • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
    • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests according to company policies and procedures
    • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
    • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
    • Maintenance and filing of employee payroll records
    • All other duties as assigned
    Skills:
    • Strong computer skills with specific experience that includes Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting ERP systems
    • Familiarity with payroll software a plus
    • Strong attention to detail required
    • General understanding of accounting practices and principles
    • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
    • Strong ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written communications Experience /
    Education:
    • High school diploma/GED required
    • Minimum one year payroll department experience preferred but not required
    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to remain seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair
    • Ability to tolerate prolonged exposure to computer screens, mobile phone screens Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
    • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments when required
    • Ability to move from one location to another; within and around locations
    • Ability to understand the speech of others
    • Ability to frequently bend to file and maintain files
    • Ability to occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
    • Ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
