JOB SUMMARY
The Payroll Clerk role is the first point of contact and support for all payroll related issues and requests. This position is responsible for maintaining the ticketing queue, assigning tickets and general data entry. This position receives and distributes all mail and assists with scanning wage garnishments. This role will report to and partner with Payroll/HRIS Systems Manager to identify opportunities to drive business process improvements in efficiency and quality. This position leverages knowledge of industry best practices to document and maintain proper segregation of controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
First point of contact for payroll related questions and issues and provide excellent Tier I support for general questions and issues Support the intake, assigning, research, and resolution of general payroll and timekeeping inquiries Assist with specific data entry such as direct deposit, supervisory and demographic information changes Receive and distribute all mail and assist Garnishment Administrator in scanning wage garnishments such as tax levies, student loans, child support and writs into ADP Smart Compliance Assist with workflow approvals with ADP Vantage as needed Assist with special projects as identified by the Payroll/HRIS Systems Manager and Payroll Ancillary Manager Learn specific duties of Time & Attendance Analyst and Payroll/HRIS Analyst to act as backup Performs other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES
2+ years' office/clerical experience, 1 year payroll experience preferred, but not required Strong bias for action with a demonstrated track record of owning and delivering solutions successfully Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working directly with users and collaborating across internal teams to deliver complex projects Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations Ability to balance the demands of projects, maintenance, support, and customer expectations in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance Self-starter, able to drive work forward within an agile environment High tolerance for ambiguity, challenge, and change Ability to show composure in difficult circumstances 1 year experience working with database reporting systems, word processing and spreadsheet software experience (i.e., Access, Word, Excel); experience using vlookups and simple formulas
