Job Description
Sirius Talent is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Remote Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations to maintain accurate payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely support to employees and management.
Process high-volume payroll for temporary, contract, and direct-hire employees.
Review and validate employee time records, pay rates, deductions, commissions, bonuses, and other payroll-related information.
Review timecard imports and client billing information for accuracy.
Audit payroll transactions and identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Ensure compliance with state-specific wage and hour laws and payroll requirements.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll files.
Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, taxes, deductions, and payroll policies.
Generate payroll reports for management and internal customers.
Provide payroll documentation and reports in support of internal and external audits.
Partner with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and benefit deductions.
Collaborate with Accounting and Operations to ensure payroll and billing information is accurate.
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
Qualifications2+ years of payroll processing experience required.
Experience processing high-volume payroll strongly preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements.
Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet payroll deadlines.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, management, and internal teams.
