month contract with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full time employee
POSITION OVERVIEW
- Payroll Specialist II - The main function of a payroll specialist is to assist in payroll accounting and reporting, including stop payments and transactions. The typical payroll specialist will be responsible for ensuring the payroll processing is compliant with all Federal and State Laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and submit paper payroll checks for employees who do not have direct deposit Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications Maintain and document all payroll records Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
REQUIRED SKILLS
Demonstrated performance as NASSC Tier 1 Agent will be accepted in place of the below qualifications 3+ years of
US & CAN
work experience in a payroll role, preferably in a 3rd party payroll or shared service environment 2+ years in customer service-related field and ability to demonstrate strong customer relationship skills Experience with top tier payroll and HRIS systems (UKGPro [UltiPro], UKG WFC [Kronos], UKG WFD [Dimensions] Workday or similar) Ability to troubleshoot and resolve requests using pre-defined and creative solutions Expertly interpret, create and present a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form Produce measurable results in a collaborative team environment as well as independently to manage time and priorities while achieving defined personal and team goals Payroll audit, control, quality assurance and/or tax management experience Payroll accounting experience including GL posting, accruals and reconciliation of payroll expenses
