Salary Scale:
Clerical Salary Scale Job Summary and Purpose Review, revise and process monthly payroll entries submitted by schools and departments. Maintains accurate employee records in ERP system. Maintains employee deductions in collaboration with assigned vendors. Balances pay and deductions while maintaining accurate reporting. Provides training and support to location based payroll representatives. Work Objectives/Essential Functions Verifies time and leave reports submitted from each school location and executes corrections as needed. Processes monthly deduction and pay code changes in the ERP system. Executes required personnel actions to include hourly/sub personnel setup, direct deposit and tax changes, and name/address changes. Verifies and balances payroll entries prior to processing monthly payroll. ? Reconciles pre

Prepares payroll reports as necessary. Assists employees with pay related questions, employee portal access, and leave inquiries. Maintains appropriate payroll records and files. Assists in training new school / department based payroll representatives. Responds to written and oral requests for information promptly and thoroughly. Complies with all District and School policies and regulations, including guidelines for confidentiality. Engages in ongoing professional development relevant to the position. Education and Experience Education Attainment (Required): High school diploma or equivalent Education Attainment (Preferred): Educational supplement via courses in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field Relevant Experience (Required): Relevant Experience (Preferred): Industry Licensure or Certifications (Required): Industry Licensure or Certifications (Preferred): Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Payroll processes and procedures. Knowledge of Stafford County School Board financial management policies and procedures. Knowledge of standard accounting principles, terminology, methods, procedures, and equipment. Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment. Ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment necessary for maintaining records. Ability to follow detailed procedures and perform mathematical computations with accuracy. Ability to work with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Smart Find Express programs. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to meet goals. Ability to organize and perform work independently. Ability to meet deadlines for all work, even when working on multiple projects. Ability to show sustained effort and enthusiasm in the quality and quantity of work.
