Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll / Office Clerk to join our dynamic administrative team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processes, ensure accurate data entry, and support various office functions that keep our organization running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in payroll management, accounting software, and human resources operations within a collaborative environment. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to maintaining efficient financial and administrative workflows. Duties Process payroll using industry-standard software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation. Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger transactions. Reconcile accounts through detailed account reconciliation procedures, including journal entries, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping. Support benefits administration activities by maintaining employee records and assisting with enrollment processes. Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting practices, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently while maintaining precise records of all transactions. Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly to ensure accuracy. Support HRIS systems such as Ceridian or HR management platforms by updating employee information and processing changes. Qualifications Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Strong understanding of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with financial software like QuickBooks or other bookkeeping tools is preferred. Knowledge of benefits administration processes and governmental or non-profit accounting standards. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is essential. Ability to apply technical accounting concepts within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong analysis skills for reviewing payroll reports and resolving discrepancies efficiently. Effective communication skills in human resources procedures and financial concepts are necessary for collaboration across departments.
