Portland, OR Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $95,000 a year 12 hours ago Qualifications Committee work Customer relationship building Series 65 Full Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Consultant to join our institutional retirement plan consulting team. This role offers an opportunity to work directly with clients, contribute to investment and fiduciary consultant engagements, and develop expertise in retirement plans, investment manager due diligence, and fiduciary governance best practices. The Associate Consultant serves as a key member of the consulting team, supporting client relationships, preparing and delivering analyses, participating in client meetings, and conducting ongoing investment manager research. This position is ideal for professionals seeking to build a long-term career in institutional retirement consulting. Primary Responsibilities Client Service & Consulting Support Attend all client workgroup and committee meetings for clients of the assigned consulting team Support Lead Consultants in servicing assigned client relationships Prepare meeting materials, analyses, presentations, and committee deliverables Deliver portions of client meetings, including market commentary, plan reviews, investment updates, fiduciary governance topics, fee benchmarking analyses, and regulatory updates Document meeting discussions, decisions, and action items through written meeting minutes Interface with the centralized support services teams to implement client decisions Initiate internal workflows and monitor internal workflows to support client service activities Maintain and update CRM records to reflect client decisions, organization changes, and relationship activity Take progressive ownership in delivering standardized client deliverables to clients Investment Manager Research & Coverage Maintain assigned coverage responsibilities for investment managers, asset classes, and investment strategies Monitor investment manager performance, personnel changes, organizational developments, and investment process updates Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on investment managers and investment products Participant in investment manager meetings, conference calls, and due diligence interviews Prepare investment manager profiles and investment briefs for assigned coverage Maintain current knowledge of capital markets, investment trends, and developments affecting retirement plan investment menus Minimum Qualifications Deep technical knowledge in one area of our core technical expertise (fiduciary governance, investments, or vendors) as demonstrated by industry designations, education, or experience. Generalist technical knowledge in other areas of our core technical experience (fiduciary governance, investments, or vendors) as demonstrated by industry designations, education, or experience Passage of series 65 exam Senior Analyst level or equivalent work experience Focus of Development Servicing clients in support of the lead consultant Continuing development of technical knowledge in fiduciary governance, investments, and vendors Development of strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to guide decision-making of an independent committee Relationship management skills Delivering standard deliverables "This job description is not a contract of employment, nor does it exhaustively list every aspect of the job.
