Senior Program Officer / Financial Opportunity Center Manager About The Bethlehem Center The Bethlehem Center is a trusted community organization committed to supporting, strengthening, and inspiring individuals and families by facilitating opportunities for personal and community advancement. Through early childhood education, youth development, family support, workforce development, financial coaching, community supportive services, and neighborhood-based initiatives, Bethlehem Center works to connect immediate needs with opportunities for long-term stability and economic mobility. As Bethlehem Center strives to implement a Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) model, we are seeking a relationship-centered, financially knowledgeable, organized, and results-oriented professional to serve as our Financial Opportunity Navigator & Coach. Position Summary The Financial Opportunity Navigator & Coach serves as Bethlehem Center's primary Financial Coach and neighborhood-facing FOC contact for Highland individuals and families. This is a direct-service position combining the core functions of an FOC Financial Coach with community navigation and coordinated access to employment, workforce training, income supports, public benefits, financial services, and asset-building opportunities. The position provides ongoing one-on-one financial coaching, helping participants assess their financial condition, establish personal financial goals, develop budgets and action plans, understand and improve credit, reduce debt, increase savings, access income supports, strengthen employment and income, and progress toward longer-term goals such as homeownership and asset building. The position develops an ongoing coaching relationship in which participants establish their own goals, take action, measure progress, address barriers, and adjust strategies over time. As a key member of Bethlehem Center's FOC team, the Coach also helps ensure participants receive the FOC's integrated combination of: Employment & Workforce Services

+ Income Supports Essential Function 1: Individual Financial Coaching Essential Function 2: Credit Building & Financial Health Essential Function 3: Financial Assessment Essential Function 4: Income Supports & Benefits Essential Function 5: Employment, Training & Income Growth Essential Function 6: Community Engagement Essential Function 7: Homeownership & Asset Building Essential Function 8: FOC Coordination & Integrated Service Delivery Essential Function 9: Workshops & Financial Education Essential Function 10: Salesforce, FOC Data & Outcome Tracking The Financial Opportunity Navigator & Coach will be evaluated on participant engagement, coaching quality, service integration, documentation, and measurable participant progress, including: Financial coaching participants enrolled and actively engaged; comprehensive financial assessments completed; individualized Financial Action Plans developed and regularly updated; financial coaching sessions completed; budgets established and maintained; credit reports and scores reviewed; measurable progress toward credit goals; savings established or increased; progress toward debt-reduction goals; participants successfully accessing eligible income supports; workforce/training enrollment; credential attainment; employment obtained and retained; increases in wages or household income when applicable; participant progress in net worth or asset building when measured; successful referral completion; progress toward homeownership readiness; participant retention and follow-through; timely and accurate Salesforce/FOC documentation; and documented progress from immediate stabilization toward longer-term financial stability and economic mobility. These measures build directly on the outcome framework already established for this position. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Human Services, Social Work, Community Development, Family Studies, Sociology, or related field preferred; an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered. Experience in financial coaching, financial capability, banking, credit counseling, workforce development, housing counseling, benefits navigation, case management, or community-based services strongly preferred. Experience providing direct one-on-one services to individuals and families. Working knowledge of budgeting, banking, savings, credit, debt, income supports, employment, and financial goal setting. Financial coaching certification or credential preferred; willingness and ability to successfully complete required FOC financial-coaching training is required. Familiarity with homeownership preparation and asset-building strategies preferred. Knowledge of Highland and Spartanburg-area community resources strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to discuss personal financial circumstances respectfully, confidentially, and without judgment. Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills. Strong case-management, documentation, and data-entry skills. Ability to maintain and actively manage an ongoing participant caseload. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Salesforce and other required systems. Ability to work independently in community settings while remaining accountable to program leadership. The successful candidate understands that effective financial coaching is not telling people what to do with their money. It is helping people understand their financial position, identify their own goals, evaluate options, take action, measure progress, and build confidence in their ability to make financial decisions.
