Primarily Monday-Friday; hours may vary depending on work orders About Fairfax Property Management Fairfax Property Management provides property preservation and field services throughout the Greater Birmingham area. We work on vacant, distressed, foreclosed, rental, and other properties requiring cleanup, debris removal, securing, maintenance, and related field services. We are looking for a dependable Property Preservation Specialist / Field Technician who is comfortable working in changing environments and understands that every property and work order can be different. This position is ideal for someone who likes hands-on work, works well independently, follows instructions carefully, and takes pride in finishing a job correctly. What You'll Do Depending on the work order, duties may include: Property cleanouts Trash-outs and debris removal Eviction and set-out assistance Loading and unloading debris Moving furniture and household items Interior and exterior cleaning Yard cleanup Basic property maintenance Securing vacant properties Completing assigned work orders Taking detailed before, during, and after photos Documenting completed work Reporting damage or unusual property conditions Keeping company vehicles, trailers, and work areas organized Following customer and client work-order instructions Working efficiently with other crew members Assisting with other property preservation services as trained This Job Can Be Physically Demanding Applicants must be comfortable: Lifting and carrying heavy objects Moving furniture and debris Working inside vacant or distressed properties Working outdoors in Alabama weather Being on their feet for extended periods Performing repetitive physical tasks Working around dirt, dust, overgrown properties, and unpleasant conditions Traveling to different properties throughout the service area What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Shows up when scheduled Arrives on time Can follow written and verbal instructions Works at a reasonable and productive pace Does not require constant supervision Can work as part of a team Takes clear job-site photos Pays attention to details Treats customer and client property respectfully Communicates problems instead of hiding them Is willing to learn Can handle a workday where assignments may change Experience Property preservation, junk removal, moving, construction labor, landscaping, maintenance, warehouse, restoration, cleaning, or similar physical work experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Driving A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the designated starting location are strongly preferred.
