JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Under close supervision, performs office and clerical work of moderate difficulty related to property assessment, property tax relief programs, deed transfers and assessor property records; performs related work as required or assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(Illustrative only) Search for information and disburse information; process documents to update and maintain parcel records, property ownership, and records for appraisal division; process applications for property tax relief programs; process recorded documents to determine legal condition of property and ownership; process appropriate instruments to complete splits or combination of parcels; assist public in use of GIS and computer facilities; answer incoming calls; receive, sort file and retrieve forms, correspondence and documents, compile reports and summaries of work; update, check and complete records, forms and documents; operate a variety of office equipment and computer assisted mass appraisal software. Conducts public outreach meetings regarding various assessor functions. Knowledge, Skill & Ability Ability to understand and follow oral or written procedures. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees, other agencies, and the public. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to make accurate math calculations. Ability to work independently exercising judgement and initiative. Ability to perform clerical tasks with speed, accuracy and understanding. Knowledge of computer applications Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience & Education High school diploma or GED certificate. Two (s) years general clerical experience or real estate fields preferred; OR, an equivalent of combination of experience, education, and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this position; must successfully complete an "Introduction to Property Tax" course within (6) months of employment. Maintain a valid Arizona Driver License throughout length of employment.
