Full-Time Starting Salary:

$45,000 per year The Cass County Assessor's Office is seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our team as a Real Estate Appraiser . This position is responsible for inspecting and evaluating real property throughout Cass County to determine fair market value. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team and will interact regularly with property owners and the general public. Previous real estate or appraisal experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct real estate appraisals of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. Perform field inspections of new construction, renovations, and existing properties throughout Cass County. Measure, sketch, and photograph homes and other structures to establish fair market value. Follow up on building permits and construction projects through completion. Enter and maintain property data in the county's mass appraisal system. Research and analyze property information as needed. Communicate courteously and professionally with property owners and the public by phone and in person. Maintain accurate records and complete assigned work in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Missouri driver's license. Insured driver with a clean driving record. Dependable and responsible work habits. Ability to work independently and stay organized. Self-motivated with good attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in real estate, property appraisal, construction, surveying, or a related field. Experience working with computers and data-entry systems. Knowledge of residential, commercial, or agricultural property. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Physical and Working Conditions This position requires work in both an office and outdoor field environment. Appraisers regularly travel throughout the county and may be required to inspect properties in a variety of weather conditions. The position requires the ability to: Walk and stand for extended periods. Walk across uneven or undeveloped terrain. Climb stairs and navigate ramps. Safely access areas under construction, including catwalks and other work areas. Measure and inspect buildings and structures. Work safely around construction sites and other potentially challenging environments.
