Job Overview Job description Our NYC office is urgently hiring Senior Field Architects for our ongoing buildings visual inspection projects in the NYC Boroughs. This position is open for short-term and long-term work. The selected candidate will be working in a team of four, comprising two Architects (licensed and in-training), one Electrical Engineer, and one Mechanical Engineer, conducting visual inspections of New York City public schools in both Brooklyn and Queens. There will be a 3-week training to catch the architect up to speed with the project's specific methodology and processes; after the first three weeks, the architect will then be scheduled to inspect school buildings with his/her team. The team will be using in-house-developed software on iPads to generate inspection reports.

Responsibilities include:

Visual inspections of school buildings, building components and systems, and building structure, using proprietary mobile applications (on company-provided iPad); Generating daily reports of school building conditions; Obtaining building data pertaining to completed improvements and upgrades from school staff (custodial engineers and principals); Denoting locations of building deficiencies on building diagrams (plan and elevation); Confirming accurate building size and damage quantities; Arriving at scheduled school buildings at 8:30am every morning, rain or shine.

Job Requirements:

Experience Requirements and Qualifications Ability to use company-provided iPad and application to complete inspection; Knowledge of architectural components, including: building exterior (envelope), structure, roofing and drainage, and familiarity with ADA guidelines; Licensed R.A. in New York State who must be open to learn inspection methodology.
