  • Job Summary This position must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and have their Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator License.
This position requires a, drivers license and insurance. Travels daily to real estate properties in York County to perform advalorum appraisal by measuring, sketching and listing property's characteristics. Have specific knowledge of the income approach to value. Will be required to appear and defend assessed values before the Board of Assessment Appeals as needed, understand, and apply Pennsylvania State law regarding Assessment. Responsibilities Provides excellent customer service Must be able to read road, and parcel maps Comprehend Deeds, Condominium Declarations, Subdivision Plans, Building Plans and Building Permits. Obtain/Maintain State Certified Pennsylvania Evaluators License Inventory all taxable property including quantity, quality, and characteristics with special attention of 'value' items Ability to measure, sketch, and list properties being assessed Calculate the assessed value of all property types in York County Knowledge of Cost and Market value trends in York County Specific knowledge of the Income approach to value Validate sales monthly to provide a clean sales file. Appear and defend assessed values before the Board of Assessment Appeals Understand and apply Pennsylvania State laws regarding Assessments Possess speaking and presentation abilities Knowledge of Assessment and Microsoft applications Responds to and resolves inquiries related to all class of properties, including Commercial Other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisor Essential Requirements Operate on Full-Time Day Shift Ability to Work Under Minimal Supervision Ability to Complete Assignments with Little Oversight Ability to Work with Frequent Schedule Changes Ability to Work in a Fast Pace Environment Full Understanding of Both Written and Verbal Instructions Excellent Verbal Communication Skills Fluent Reading Ability to Hear 20/20 Vision Complex Computational Skills Ability to Frequently Interact with Customers Driving Required Contact Details If you have any questions, please contact the county's Department of Human Resources at ychr@yorkcountypa.gov.
