Job Description
We are looking for an accomplished, detail-oriented Business Risk Officer within a banking environment. This role serves as a key advisor to business leaders by strengthening controls tied various business units of the bank. The ideal candidate brings deep financial services expertise and can turn complex risk considerations into practical guidance that supports responsible growth.
Responsibilities:
- Guide first-line risk activities initiatives, ensuring business objectives are supported by effective governance and controls.
- Partner with leaders across the bank functions to identify exposures and embed risk awareness into planning and execution.
- Design, evaluate, and enhance control frameworks related to specific business initiatives.
- Advise on regulatory, operational, and reputational risk matters by translating requirements into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Oversee risk assessments, control reviews, and remediation planning to address gaps in processes.
- Monitor performance through meaningful metrics and reporting that highlight control effectiveness, emerging issues, and progress on action plans.
- Support compliance reviews, examinations, and risk program activities by preparing documentation and coordinating responses across business teams.
- Drive process improvements that strengthen governance, streamline execution, and improve consistency across front-line risk practices.
