This is a highly visible, hospital-wide role with responsibility for leading the organization's risk management program while also serving as the facility's Compliance & Ethics Officer. The successful executive will work directly across clinical and operational leadership, physicians, frontline teams, and legal counsel.
The mandate is straightforward:
identify risk early, reduce exposure, respond effectively when incidents occur, strengthen accountability, and help create a safer and more consistent environment for patients, providers, staff, and the organization. What You Will Lead
  • Own the hospital's overall risk management program across the hospital and affiliated clinics.
  • Identify, assess, prevent, and mitigate clinical and operational risk.
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, executives, and frontline teams to investigate incidents and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Manage risk-related requirements surrounding potential and active litigation, including investigations, interviews, depositions, and legal-hold records in coordination with legal counsel.
  • Educate leaders, providers, and staff on risk management, incident reporting, and prevention practices.
  • Advise leadership on informed consent, documentation standards, disclosure practices, and professional liability exposure.
  • Oversee professional liability, general liability, and property claims-management activities.
  • Serve as the facility's Compliance & Ethics Officer and help reinforce a culture of ethical, accountable decision-making. Executive Profile
  • Active New Mexico RN license or eligible multistate RN license.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • At least 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 3 years in management or director-level leadership.
  • Demonstrated healthcare Risk Management experience.
  • Prior acute-care healthcare risk management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a for-profit hospital environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous Director-level healthcare leadership experience preferred.
CPHRM certification preferred at hire and required within three years of employment
Compensation & Executive Package Base Salary:
$119,000 - $149,000 annually
Bonus:
The position includes a bonus opportunity as part of the overall compensation package; specific bonus terms are discussed with qualified candidates during the recruitment process.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Publicly available postings for this opportunity indicate assistance of up to $10,000. Pay:
$119,000.00 - $149,000.00 per year
