Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to manage various tax-related responsibilities within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws, handling monthly tax filings, maintaining accurate records of tax-exempt customers, and monitoring automated tax systems. This role requires a strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations, as well as effective communication with state authorities to ensure timely and accurate filings. Responsibilities Prepare and file monthly Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) returns in accordance with state law. Keep detailed records of tax-exempt customers, including documentation requirements per state regulations. Handle correspondence with state agencies regarding tax filings and exemptions. Monitor and oversee the automated sales and use tax system to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sales and use tax laws across different jurisdictions. Ensure all required documents are collected, organized, and retained for audit purposes. Collaborate with internal teams to support audit readiness and resolve any tax-related issues promptly. Skills Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations across multiple states. Experience with monthly TPT filing processes. Excellent recordkeeping and organizational skills for managing exemption documentation. Effective communication skills for liaising with state agencies. Familiarity with automated tax systems and monitoring their accuracy. Attention to detail and analytical thinking to ensure compliance with complex tax laws. Ability to stay current on changing tax laws and regulations affecting the organization. Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 - 32.0 per week
