A Tax Specialist is responsible for documenting all stages of the accounting cycle in order to prepare Federal, State and local tax returns. Will review data prior to preparing the returns, prepare and file returns and will also provide background documentation in case of an audit.

Position Overview:
Required Qualifications High school diploma required. 5 + years of direct experience filing taxes and working in a tax department . 1+ year of experience in Customer Service, Accounting, or Finance . Hands-on experience with multistate payroll tax . Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws . Advanced-level knowledge of payroll tax processes and tax regulations. Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll Tax and ADP MasterTax preferred. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Independently prepare and file payroll taxes . Handle federal, state, and local tax filings . Manage monthly local tax filings . Process and respond to W-2C requests . Manage emails, mail, and tax-related inquiries. Use ServiceNow to manage requests and track issues. Work closely with the Tax Team, customers, and internal business units .
