Tax Senior - CPA, Tax Senior, Individual Returns Everforth, Cybercoders - 3.9 Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $100,000 a year 18 hours ago Qualifications Partnership tax expertise Bachelor's degree Audit support Full Job Description Tax Senior Tax & Audit Senior Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax & Audit Senior to join our firm and lead tax compliance and audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. The Tax & Audit Senior will prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate and other business tax returns, oversee audit and review fieldwork, provide technical tax research and planning support, and mentor junior staff to ensure timely, accurate delivery of client services. This role requires strong technical tax and audit knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review and finalize individual tax returns (1040 series) including preparation (Prep) of associated schedules and analyses Prepare and review partnership (1065), corporate (1120/1120S) and other business returns accurately and on deadline Lead audit and review engagements, perform substantive testing, document findings, and prepare audit documentation and reports Oversee and mentor junior staff and Tax Seniors; delegate tasks, review workpapers, and provide feedback to support professional development Perform technical tax research and provide recommendations on tax planning opportunities, positions, and compliance matters Coordinate with clients to gather information, communicate findings, and resolve complex tax and audit issues Ensure quality control, compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and applicable tax and accounting regulations Manage engagement timelines and budgets, track progress, and escalate issues to partners when necessary Utilize tax software and accounting systems to prepare returns, workpapers and supporting schedules; ensure proper version control and documentation Contribute to business development efforts by identifying cross-selling opportunities and supporting proposal and client retention activities Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred or in-progress; active license a plus 3+ years of experience as a Tax Senior, Audit Senior, or similar role at a public accounting firm Proven experience preparing and reviewing Individual Returns, Partnerships Returns, corporate returns (1120/1120S), and other Business Returns Strong experience with tax return Prep and Review processes and tax compliance workflows Demonstrated experience leading audits, reviews or other attest engagements Working knowledge of tax research tools, tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSeries, Drake, Lacerte), and accounting systems Excellent technical tax knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills with client-facing experience Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and supervise junior team members Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; Masters in Taxation or advanced degree is a plus For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
