In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance on tax compliance, financial record-keeping, and accounting practices to ensure accurate financial health for the clients you serve. Your expertise will support both operational efficiency and strategic decision-making, helping our clients meet regulatory standards and achieve financial excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse clients across various sectors, including small businesses, corporate entities, and non-profit organizations, while helping grow the firm's tax and bookkeeping practice. Duties Manage and maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online. Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit entities using Drake Tax Software. Conduct tax planning and advise clients on tax strategies. Prepare and review journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity. Conduct accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account analysis. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and monitor accounts to identify discrepancies or irregularities. Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and payroll standards. Prepare detailed financial reports, including statements aligned with GAAP and other accounting standards. Support budgeting activities and provide insights for financial planning and analysis. Grow the firm's tax and bookkeeping book of business by developing new client relationships, generating referrals, and expanding services with existing accounts. Utilize spreadsheets extensively for data analysis, financial modeling, and report writing. Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA preferred. Five or more years of experience in tax preparation, corporate accounting, or public accounting. Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA) credential required; Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred. Proficiency in Drake Tax Software and QuickBooks Online. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting standards, GAAP guidelines, and double-entry bookkeeping methods. Proficiency in financial concepts such as debits and credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis. Demonstrated ability in bookkeeping tasks including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable management, and bank statement reconciliation. Skilled in preparing financial reports and writing clear financial summaries for clients and regulatory bodies. Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and grow a book of business. Excellent spreadsheet skills with a focus on budgeting, data analysis, and accurate data entry. Knowledge of payroll processing procedures. Familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus; experience supporting non-profit organizations is highly valued.
