Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic municipal team as a Deputy Town Clerk / Tax Collector, a vital role dedicated to ensuring efficient administrative operations, accurate motor vehicle registrations, vital records, elections and tax collection processes. The Town of Henniker is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to serve as our full-time Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector. This position assists the Town Clerk/Tax Collector in providing professional, efficient, and courteous service to residents while performing a variety of clerical, financial, and administrative duties. You must be a Henniker resident. Responsibilities Assist with motor vehicle registrations, titles, and renewals. Issue dog licenses, marriage licenses, and vital records in accordance with New Hampshire law. Process tax payments, utility payments, and other municipal transactions. Maintain accurate financial and public records. Balance daily cash receipts and prepare bank deposits. Provide exceptional customer service in person, by telephone, and electronically. Assist with election preparation and other Town Clerk duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Town Clerk / Tax Collector's office. Qualifications and Experience Must be a Henniker resident High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant municipal experience preferred. Experience in municipal government, tax collection, bookkeeping, cash handling, or customer service is preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with municipal software is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism. $20.36 - $23.72 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
