Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sawmill Maintenance Technician Millwright to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our sawmill operations. Your expertise will ensure smooth production flow by diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues quickly and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong industrial mechanic skills and a passion for maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment. Duties Perform preventative maintenance on sawmill machinery, including conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments Conduct equipment repairs utilizing welding techniques such as stick welding and ensure proper alignment with precision tools Diagnose electrical problems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage circuits, and electrical blueprint reading Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management Assist with field service tasks including equipment installation or upgrades at the sawmill or other facilities Maintain safety standards by adhering to lockout/tagout procedures and ensuring all work complies with industry regulations Qualifications Proven experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing facilities or similar environments Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems using schematics and blueprints Skilled in welding techniques such as stick welding; ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electrician practices, and control systems troubleshooting Ability to operate field service equipment such as scissor lifts safely; valid certifications preferred Excellent analysis skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions Experience working with CMMS software for maintenance tracking; proficiency with multimeters (voltmeters/ohmmeters) and other diagnostic tools Strong communication skills in English; ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is highly desirable; military background is a plus Welding experience perferred Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team committed to excellence in sustainable forest product manufacturing.
