Job Description
Role
The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, experience reviewing returns prepared by staff, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while delivering exceptional client service.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview complex federal and multi-state tax returns for:
High-net-worth individualsPartnershipsCorporationsEstates and TrustsReview tax projections and provide proactive tax planning recommendations.
Review sales tax returns, payroll tax filings, business property tax statements, and business license renewals.
Plan, supervise, and review compiled and reviewed financial statement engagements.
Research complex federal and state tax issues, including new tax legislation and regulatory updates.
Represent clients during federal and state tax audits.
Provide timely, accurate, and practical tax guidance to clients.
Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff.
Review workpapers and ensure compliance with firm quality standards and tax regulations.
Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.6 years of public accounting tax experience.
Strong experience reviewing complex federal and multi-state tax returns.
Extensive knowledge of:
Individual taxationPartnership taxationCorporate taxationEstate and Trust taxationMulti-state taxationExperience with tax planning, tax projections, and tax research.
Experience planning and supervising compiled and reviewed financial statement engagements.
Experience representing clients during federal and state tax audits.
Experience supervising and mentoring tax staff.
Strong analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple engagements in a deadline-driven public accounting environment.
Preferred QualificationsActive CPA license preferred.
Experience with public accounting tax software.
Strong client relationship management experience.
