Job Description
Every firm has values. Very few ever get the chance to prove them. When the Cape Coral real estate market collapsed in 2008, many accounting firms were forced into survival mode. Clients disappeared. Revenue fell. Uncertainty became the norm. Some firms reacted by reducing headcount. Others focused purely on protecting the bottom line. This firm chose a different path. They adapted. Protected their people wherever possible. Rebuilt their client base. And continued investing in the relationships that had made them successful in the first place. Nearly two decades later, they're still serving many of those same families and businesses. That tells you far more about this firm than any mission statement ever could. Why this opportunity exists This isn't a replacement hire. Nobody's left. The firm's client base is strong. The leadership team is stable. The reason they're hiring is simple. They're planning for the future. Succession has become an important conversation, and they're looking for a Tax Manager who wants to become part of the firm's long-term leadership rather than simply manage a portfolio. Why Tax Managers join this firm $130,000 - $150,000 compensation Direct access to the firm's Partners Genuine long-term succession opportunity Established client relationships built over decades Stable leadership team with low staff turnover Firm established in 1977 with an outstanding local reputation Opportunity to play a significant role within a respected boutique practice The role This is a highly visible position where your contribution won't disappear into layers of management. You'll work directly with clients. Provide practical tax planning and advisory services. Review complex tax engagements. Develop junior team members. And help shape the future direction of the practice alongside the firm's Partners. The work is varied, the client relationships are genuine and your ideas will be heard. Your clients The portfolio is approximately: 60% business clients 40% individuals, trusts and estates You'll advise clients across industries including: Construction Professional services Owner-managed businesses Specialist clients, including work connected to a professional sports organisation This isn't a high-volume production environment. Clients know your name. They value your advice. And the relationships you build genuinely matter. Who this role suits You're an experienced Tax Manager—or perhaps a strong Senior who's ready to step into one. You enjoy building long-term client relationships. You like working in a collaborative team where your contribution is visible. And you're looking for somewhere you can build a career, not simply spend a few years before moving on again. The reality The strongest firms aren't always the ones that grow the fastest. Often, they're the ones that stay true to who they are when times get tough. This firm has already demonstrated that. If you're looking for a stable practice with genuine long-term opportunities and a leadership team that's thinking about the future, I'd be delighted to tell you more.
