Master's in Tax preferred. LLM preferred. 7 years Prior related experience required. 2 years supervisory or team leadership experience required.Position Purpose:
Applies principles of tax law and required. to review work performed by other tax personnel. In-depth analysis of tax law, knowledge of federal, state, and international compliance requirements, and accounting for income tax. Must be strategically focused and process improvement minded. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with income and/or non-income tax law and Company policies pertaining to tax matters. Performs tax research and prepares supporting memorandums. Monitors or participates in the development and implementation of ongoing tax strategies and policies. Coordinates tax examinations with government agencies. Plans the overall operations of one or more areas or units and ensures achievement of goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff. Develops, coaches and/or mentors subordinate staff. Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; schedules and approves overtime; take disciplinary action, as necessary, etc. Develops, interprets, and ensures the consistent application of organization policies. Develops or approves recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation. Establishes deadlines .Additional Functions:
Solid interpersonal skills. .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
Proficient in the use of tax and accounting database software. A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
