Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join a public accounting firm serving clients in Jackson, Tennessee. This role blends tax leadership with client accounting and advisory support, offering the chance to work closely with a diverse client base rather than remaining limited to a single specialty. The position is well suited for someone who is detail oriented and enjoys building client relationships, guiding accounting processes, and contributing to a collaborative firm environment with long-term growth potential, including a path toward future leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of business and individual tax engagements, including work related to corporations, partnerships, trusts, nonprofit entities, and high-net-worth clients.
- Oversee monthly and periodic accounting activities such as general ledger maintenance, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Manage client relationships by serving as a trusted point of contact, identifying needs across tax, accounting, and advisory services, and delivering practical guidance.
- Supervise staff assignments and review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and deadlines.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to help clients understand operating results and support informed business decisions.
- Use cloud-based accounting and tax applications, including Lacerte, QuickBooks, and similar platforms, to support efficient service delivery.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on complex client matters, workflow planning, and service improvements across assigned accounts.
- Contribute to advisory engagements by helping clients strengthen financial processes, reporting practices, and overall business operations.
