GWP Accounting is hiring a Senior Tax & Assurance Manager (CPA) for an established practice in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Focus on preparing and reviewing high-quality work and serving an assigned client base, with day-to-day support from firm leadership.

Starting base salary:

$125,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based compensation. Full-time, primarily in-office in Jacksonville, NC 28546.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Review corporate and individual tax returns and prepare more complex returns, with growth potential toward signing authority. Manage an assigned load of compilation and review engagements, applying GAAP and relevant construction and not-for-profit accounting knowledge. Perform review procedures and high-level financial statement review, following the firm's Quality Management System (QMS). Answer client questions on monthly bookkeeping engagements and support accurate, timely interim financial reporting. Maintain familiarity with payroll tax compliance, including Form 941, as needed. Be the primary contact and trusted advisor for an assigned client base. Work autonomously on technical engagements, with day-to-day support from firm leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING

Active CPA license; North Carolina license or eligibility for NC reciprocity/mobility. Approximately 7-10 years of public accounting experience across tax and assurance/review work. Experience reviewing complex individual and corporate tax returns and strong working knowledge of GAAP. Construction and not-for-profit accounting experience preferred. Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and Form 941 requirements. Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, and professional judgment. A client-first approach and the ability to build trusted relationships.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
