Manages and supports the corporation's tax function, including tax compliance, tax accounting, tax planning, and tax reporting activities for Everus Construction Group and its operating companies. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax regulations, as applicable, while supporting accurate and timely tax reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements for a public company. Supports tax planning initiatives, tax audits, and business transactions while partnering with finance and operational teams across the organization. Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy. Employees | Value | Execution | Relationships Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or related field; and Seven plus years of progressive experience in corporate taxation, public accounting, or a combination thereof; with 1-3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and related tax filings for Everus Construction Group and its subsidiaries. Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, supporting schedules, and tax-related financial statement disclosures. Ensure compliance with income, franchise, sales and use, property, and other applicable tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding tax compliance, tax accounting, and audit matters. Support tax planning initiatives designed to minimize tax liabilities, optimize cash flow, and improve overall tax efficiency. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess the impact of changes in tax law on the company. Assist with tax aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, legal entity restructuring, and other strategic transactions, including tax due diligence and integration activities. Manage tax audits and examinations by federal, state, and local taxing authorities, including preparation of responses and supporting documentation. Maintain and improve processes, controls, and documentation supporting tax compliance and tax reporting activities. Partner with accounting, treasury, legal, payroll, and operational teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business transactions. Support SOX compliance efforts by maintaining effective internal controls over tax reporting and compliance processes. Utilize tax technology and financial systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. Participate in industry and professional organizations to remain current on tax developments affecting the construction and engineering industries. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax laws, tax accounting principles, and tax compliance requirements. Working knowledge of sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax matters. Experience with ASC 740 tax provision calculations and related disclosures. Understanding of SEC reporting requirements applicable to public companies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex tax matters to non-tax audiences. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to build effective relationships with employees, management, external advisors, auditors, and taxing authorities. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and tax information. Proficiency with tax software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. CPA certification Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or industrial services industries. Experience with public company tax reporting and SOX compliance requirements. Experience with tax technology and process automation initiatives.
Salary Range:
