Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a public accounting team in Clinton, New Jersey. This position leads tax planning, compliance, and advisory work for a range of clients while supporting accurate reporting and strong client service. The role is well suited to someone who is detail oriented and can manage multiple engagements, guide staff, and apply sound technical judgment across complex tax matters.
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation, review, and delivery of federal, state, and local tax filings for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.
- Oversee tax compliance projects from planning through final submission, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed accurately.
- Advise clients on tax strategy, entity structure, and planning opportunities to support operational and financial goals.
- Manage annual income tax provision work and apply ASC 740 guidance to support proper financial reporting.
- Review accounting records and workpapers using platforms such as CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx to maintain high-quality documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams on month-end and year-end tax-related activities, including reconciliations and provision support.
- Research technical tax issues and communicate practical recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of tax staff, helping develop technical capability and consistent service standards. Benefits - 401(k) Vision insurance Dental insurance Disability insurance
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of tax experience within a public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of income tax compliance, annual tax provision processes, and ASC 740.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and tax applications, including CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with tax consulting, compliance reporting, and entity formation matters.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
