Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Public Tax Accountant- to join a well-established boutique accounting firm. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex tax engagements while contributing to a collaborative practice that also supports bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and related client advisory needs. The position is well suited for a CPA or CPA candidate who is interested in long-term growth, leadership development, and the potential to expand client relationships within the firm.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements with a primary focus on individual and corporate returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Review tax filings and supporting workpapers prepared by staff, providing guidance that strengthens quality and technical performance.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies and respond to questions related to business and individual tax matters.
  • Contribute to broader client service work, including bookkeeping oversight, financial statement preparation, compilations, and reviews as needed.
  • Mentor entry-level team members by sharing technical knowledge, supporting career development, and helping build a high-performing tax practice.
  • Coordinate priorities during peak filing periods, balancing deadlines across multiple engagements while maintaining strong client communication.
  • Partner closely with firm leadership on long-range succession planning and gradually take on greater managerial responsibility over time.
  • Support practice growth efforts by developing trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services where appropriate.
