In this role, you will lead tax compliance and strategic tax planning for a diverse portfolio of clients. Serving as a primary advisor, you will tackle complex federal and state tax matters, mentor a talented team of tax professionals, and partner across service lines to deliver holistic client solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & Review:
Oversee the accurate, timely preparation and technical review of federal and multi-state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
Strategic Tax Advisory:
Design and execute proactive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support long-term client business goals.
Team Mentorship & Workflow:
Supervise, delegate, and coach tax staff; conduct performance reviews, ensure quality control, and manage engagement deadlines.
Client Engagement:
Serve as the primary client contact for tax matters-gathering information, explaining complex tax positions, and communicating actionable results.
Technical Research & Notice Resolution:
Perform complex tax research, interpret tax law changes, prepare written position memos, and manage tax authority notices and audits.
Process & Technology Innovation:
Leverage modern tax tech tools and champion process improvements to drive efficiency across the tax practice.
QualificationsCredentials:
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, with proven capabilities in individual, partnership, and corporate taxation.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master of Taxation is a plus).
Software Stack:
Proficient with major tax platforms (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx) and Microsoft Office products.
Core Competencies:
Strong technical research abilities, exceptional written/verbal communication, and sharp organization skills to manage tight deadlines.
